NEW JOB!

Sarah has a job now and started yesterday. Me being the embarassing step-mom had to take pictures of her first day. Actually I took the pictures today it was crazy yesterday to get her eating and out the door. She is working at Berkots Super Foods which is a block away from our house (awesome for commuting!) and she falls into a long line of Sheridans that worked there when it was Ordman's Park and Shop.

Eric and I both agree that this is a good thing for Sarah it will give her a sense of pride and if not that atleast she will be making some money for herself.

15 Month Check

Yesterday and the day before that it was all about Logan. Starting on Tuesday with a trip down to the Will County Health Department for Logan's 12 month vaccinations (we are behind because of the constant colds this past winter). Very upsetting for Logan and Mommy since I do not like shots myself. Yesterday Logan met our new pedatrician for the first time. We decided to switch doctors because of the distance to Bolingbrook. These guys are affilliated with Christ Hospital (if you remember Rylie was at Hope Children's Hospital and that's attached) instead of Hinsdale Hospital where the kids were born. Our first visit went well. Logan now weighs 22lbs. 11oz. and is 30.5 inches long. The doctor said he is running on the short side, but hopefully he takes after the Grant side and has a growth spurt.

Fun in the Water

This was literally minutes after Logan dove head first in this big tub I filled with water. Luckily he was able to get himself back together and go back to playing. We definately don't want him to be scared of the water.

Our FUN trip to Michigan

Daddy and Rylie enjoying the relaxing boat ride.
Hey! Where's my cake! Its a birthday party afterall!

Talking with Michelle and Carol.

Jeanne and little Tyler. THE BIRTHDAY BOY!

Logan and Tyler future BFFs!

Tyler's brithday was definately a special occassion to get together with the Sheridan's to celebrate. It was definately our longest car ride with the kids (4 hours!), but they did GREAT! We borrowed a portable DVD player from one of my friends and that helped to past some of the time on the road. Another first was a boat ride. Jeanne and Mike have a pontoon(?) boat and the kids really enjoyed the ride.

Rylie's 6 month Evaluation

Rylie standing in her "new" bed. Not to be encouraged!
Yesterday Rylie had her 6 month eval. It went really good except 2 of her service providers did not show and I know Helen, her coordinator was mad. Well anyway...all services stay the same except PT we will only see Tara 2 times a month. Speech and OT stay the same. She is making great progress! Transition to Early Childhood will be talked about in the next month or so and if she qualifies she will be starting school in the fall. My little girl is growing up so fast it makes me sad.

Sarah's Birthday Celebration

Eventhough Sarah will not be turning 17 until Wednesday, we had a small birthday celebration for tonight. Complete with Sarah's friend Amanda and Grammy and Pop-Pop. We had pizza from Fox's and Grammy made a cake.

BIG Saturday Activities

We had a very eventful Saturday! First Brodin and Keegan, our relatives from behind the cheddar curtain (or Bill and Ali's boys) came for a playdate in the morning with Aunt Helen and then in the afternoon was the arrival of RYLIE'S BIG GIRL BED! A white iron single bed from Grammy and Pop-Pop's house. She slept real good last night for the first time in a big bed but woke-up super early this morning (4:45am) yelling for me. She did not get out of bed until I came in and told her it was ok to get out of bed.

One Little Rylie Jumping on the Bed

But she didn't fall off and bump her head! LOL!

Vinny a Dog You Should Know

Easter in Wisconsin (Logan's first trip out of state)

Easter in Wisconsin this year. I was a little nervous since the kids haven't done much sleeping in strange places. But both kids did great, we had a great trip up 3 hours in the car (or maybe a little less, who knows). We caravaned up with Grammy and Pop-Pop and stopped at a Panera in Gurnee for a bagel and coffee and so that the kids could stretch their legs. We stayed with Uncle Jim and Aunt Carol, Rylie slept on a twin mattress on the floor (first time not in her crib) and Logan slept in a pack-n-play we brought for him. The biggest fun was not just being around our Wisconsin family but watching Rylie and Logan interact with their dog Vinnie who is a standard poodle and the nicest dog. Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Trip to the Mall

These kids will never think that the mall is open, but this video speaks for itself on how much fun they have going.

Another Fun Day With the Grants

Of course baby had to come with us. Little cool outside, but sunny. "Hey! Where's my blankie going?"
Playing magnets with Grandma

Mary is patiently listening to Rylie "play" the piano.

We traveled all the way up to Wilmette this Saturday to celebrate more Grant birthdays. This was Logan's first trip to the North Shore and Rylie's first in awhile (I think she was still eating baby food). Its not that we don't love Jim and Jennifer and family its that they have taken on a remodeling project. The house looked awesome!

Good Report

Today Rylie met with her pediatric neurologist, Dr. Singh. I am happy to report that Rylie is doing good and we just have more follow-up appointments, one in 6 months. April 13 is her 2year mark as far as being off her medication. YIPPEE! Great job, Rylie.

P.S. I think the sickness in the house is finally over (IT'S BEEN 3 WEEKS). Everyone (well, everyone that was sick Rylie and Logan) woke-up today hungry and no diarhea!
